Hi, I’m Olga! Welcome to The Home Sweet Home Blog – a place where I would like to share my passion for cooking, baking, home decorating, and especially, organizing! I love to organize every one of my cabinets and drawers. I think of it as my fun addiction! Really! 🙂
I am a devoted wife and the mother of two precious little girls, and my family is the center of my life. I grew up in Europe in a family of 5, I have been living in Florida nearly 10 years. When I was a child, my mother was the queen of making all of our birthdays and holidays magical, especially Christmas! I have so many fond memories of my childhood, and would like to create similar memories for my girls! I know that in the blink of an eye, my babies will be all grown up and off to college. In the meantime, I will savor the small moments with my toddlers Kate, 3, and Emily, 2.
Before we had our little princesses, I always strove for perfection; however, they keep me grounded and have helped me to realize that instead of perfection, I should strive for simplicity and balance. Having children has made my life and my home slightly chaotic, but in a most beautiful and blessed way. Although my own dreams and aspirations continue to evolve and grow, staying home with my little girls and creating a loving family foundation for them currently is my number one priority!
I love French cuisine and, if time permits (time – there’s never enough of it, is there?!), I enjoy browsing the Internet or curling up with the latest home magazine. I am a morning person, and enjoy a cup of coffee before my babies wake up. I love fresh flowers, especially peonies, hydrangeas, and orchids. But it seems as though I am missing the green thumb gene, especially when it comes to orchids. They seem to always die after two months!
So, as a stay-home Mom, this blog is the best expression of all my passions about family and home, and my hope is that this little website will be an inspiration to other home-makers who want to add some creativity and coziness to their homes.
There is one last thing that I want to quickly tell you before I sign off! Please don’t be tempted to assume that everyone has their act together and is always smiley and happy. On some days we have dishes piled in the sink and crumbs and stickers all over the floors. Instead of stressing about those little things, I try to focus on the sunny days here in Florida and the happy home I’m creating for my two little princesses.
That being said, get a cup of coffee or tea, lean back and relax, and know that I hope you find some new ideas from my blog that can help you create the cozy home that you may be dreaming about!
Thanks for stopping by! Wishing you lots of sunny days! 🙂
