Well, Easter is on Sunday and we are almost ready over here! Easter baskets are filled and the menu is set. I am super excited for Easter this year because my sister is coming to visit. We have plans to go to church and we will have a nice brunch after.I love the casualness of a brunch at home. The kids can run around and the adults can lean back and enjoy the morning. We also are considering taking the girls to their first Easter egg hunt and to take pictures with the Easter bunny on Saturday. We know that Easter is not about eggs and bunnies, but when you have small kids it doesn’t hurt to have fun with those things.
The inspiration for this table started with these adorable Aluminum Bunny Serving Bowls from HomeGoods and these standing glitter bunnies from Pottery Barn. Bunnies certainly say Easter, don’t they?! 🙂
If you’ve read my previous posts about the Easter cake and the vegan ice cream, you will know that the color lilac can’t be missed this Easter. 🙂 The pale lilac linen napkins are from Crate & Barrel and are on sale right now.
I love the mini birds’ nests and the speckled eggs. They are adorable and add a little feel of nature to the table. To make the table setting more fun for the girls, I added a little yellow chick to the nests and folded the green napkins into bunny ears that hold colored eggs.
The flowers are from the grocery store. I like to add eucalyptus to my flowers . The silver-green leaves add texture, depth, and fullness to any arrangement.
For brunch we’ll be having Bruce Paltrow’s world-famous pancakes, Asparagus-Egg-Prosciutto Tart, Blackberry Muffins with yogurt icing, sweet braided Easter bread, fruit salad, and deviled eggs. I have been using Janet’s Pain Brioche recipe from Simply So Good for my braided Easter bread. If you like to make your Thanksgiving dinner rolls from scratch, this recipe will work wonderfully as well. It is has a buttery flavor and a soft texture.
And you can’t forget about dessert on holidays, right? 🙂
Lilac Beauty – Easter Cake with sweet potato frosting. You can find the recipe here.
Happy almost Easter! Are you ready? What are your plans and what’s on your menu?
