This is my first post for the This & That category. Here, I would like to show you all kinds of things (products, clothes, food… you name it) that became my favorites and are worth mentioning. Today, I would like to introduce you to my weekly meal planning pad that has a tear-off shopping list.
To me, this is just super convenient and genius! Wouldn’t you agree!? 🙂
In the past, I have read blogs on the internet in which people prep their meals for days and weeks. They spend their entire Sunday cooking and freezing meals for the weeks to come. That sounds great, but, unfortunately, I can’t do that. I have small kids, and I don’t have the time to spend the entire day cooking and prepping. All I wanted and needed is quick meal planning that would help me to take the edge off scrambling for dinner ideas during the week.
After some searching online, I came across this neat weekly meal planning pad with an easy tear-off shopping list. On the left side, you can plan your meals Monday through Friday, and, on the right side, you have a perforated grocery list that you can easily tear off and take to your grocery store. The design is simple yet cute, and it has magnets on the back that you can attach to your fridge.
I usually plan our dinners on a weeknight after I put the girls to bed. It takes me about 30 minutes. I pick two to three cookbooks off my bookshelf and browse through the illustrations to get inspiration. Planning a little ahead definitely helped us to add variety to our dinners. I have less stress during the weeknights, we started to eat healthier, and I found myself discarding less food. There were times where I would go grocery shopping without a list and would pick up items that I have stored in the fridge and forgot about.
Give it a try and let me know what you think! Are you meal planning? If so, what’s your system?
